SparkUC + Mortar
Mortar Cincinnati represents the spirit of social innovation and entrepreneurship that the Innovation Initiative wishes to capture through its partnership with Next Lives Here and its second edition of Spark UC. Mortar's mission is centrally focused on targeting redeveloping and underserved communities and empowering their residents to take part in Cincinnati's revitalization through entrepreneurship. One of the central themes of the University of Cincinnati's Creating Our Third Century plan was a call for a focused and sustained investment in people. As students, we believe it is important to drive these initiatives forward, and we also believe an investment in people extends to not only the university's many stakeholders but also to those who reside in our larger Cincinnati community. Through this year's edition of Spark UC, interdisciplinary student teams will come together to try and figure out how to aid the entrepreneurs and businesses that Mortar serves.
Timeline
October 3rd - Project Launch at SE Cincy Summit
Over the next two weeks, we will host two speakers who will lead workshops that will provide your team the opportunity to work on your project in a creative, high energy setting! This will lead up to the first round pitch on October 17th.
The top 3 teams will move on to the Final Pitch that will take place on October 20th during Next Lives Here Summit.

Registration closes on October 7th at 5pm
Students will work in teams of 5 to help find a solution for MORTAR Cincinnati. But there's a catch, no more than two team members can be from the same college!
If you don't have a full team, register as many as you can and we can take care of the rest. If you are an individual, don't worry! We have you covered and will find you a team
